Barrow cum Denham Parish Council comprises of the village of Barrow and the hamlet of Denham which sit side by side in the lovely countryside of Suffolk, England. They are both rural villages situated been the towns of Bury St Edmunds (approximately 6 miles away) and Newmarket (approximately 9 miles away). Cambridge and Ipswich are both approximately thirty miles away.
Barrow has two shops, hairdressers, fish and chip shop, post office, two public houses, several small businesses, and a village car park. There is a primary school in the village, together with a nursery and two mother and toddler groups.
The village church is sited on the outskirts of the village. It has a closed churchyard and the parish council is responsible for the cemetery nearby.
Barrow has a recently refurbished village hall which is used by different village groups and societies and a playing field which has tennis courts, a children’s play area, skate park, football pitches and a basketball area.
Denham has no facilities other than the village church which has an open churchyard. There are several farms situated in and around Denham.
There is a large network of footpaths in Barrow and Denham and forty one ponds, three of which are the responsibility of the parish council.
